I Tested 4 Amazon Tennis Dresses in the Disney World Summer Heat

I take staying cool, cute, and comfortable in Disney very seriously. I tried and tested four different tennis dresses in Disney World in the summer heat to see which one is the best. Comparing comfort and fit, sweat-wicking power, and style, I thoroughly tested what to know about each dress before you purchase for your own warm weather adventures.

I am a mid-size, minimalist, medium-maintenance Disney fan. I love going to the parks, but my body has a few opinions of its own. Between heat and sun sensitivities and a few other considerations, I have to be intentional when packing for a full park day.

My goal is always to make it from rope drop to fireworks without a single migraine, rosacea flare-up, or chafing from my thighs that rub together. I am an outfit repeater, an AC lover, and a professional shade seeker. I share the tools and clothing I have tried and tested to keep you cool and comfortable for those long days so you can focus on having the best Disney vacation ever!

For this dress test, I tried four different styles from four different companies, all with shorts underneath that either come with the dress or are attached. Each style has their pros and cons! The style is purely up to personal preference and what aspect of an outfit matters the most to you. All dresses are well under $50 total!

I’m 5’9, size 10, 34G/34DD, an hourglass body shape with thighs that touch. I HATE when shorts ride up, so this was a major factor for me in the ranking. To show what each dress is like, here’s the ranking rubric I considered for each one:

Dress Rubric:

  • Size Ordered:

  • Regular Price:

  • Fit & Flattery: (This covers how it looks, the cut, the silhouette, and how I  feel in it.)

  • Shorts Ride-Up Resistance: (Purely about the mechanics of the shorts staying put.)

  • Sweat-Wicking: (How it handles the Florida summer heat.)

Amazon Tennis Dresses for Disney: The Four Contenders & Rubric

ODODOS Women's Tank Dress With Built-in Bra and Separate Shorts

  • Size Ordered: Large - runs true to size.

  • Regular Price: $39.99

  • Fit & Flattery: Very comfortable fit with an ideal mid-thigh length for taller frames. The buttery-soft material is incredibly cozy, though it does have a tendency to cling a bit more to the belly area than stiffer fabrics. (I had also just started my period on this day after a recent endometriosis excision surgery, so my stomach was as bloated as it ever gets. Still very comfy in this dress despite the time of the month!)

  • Shorts Ride-Up Resistance: Outstanding. Because the shorts are completely separate, they don't shift with the dress and stay put all day with zero riding up.

  • Sweat-Wicking: The moisture-wicking blend pulls sweat away from the body efficiently.

Caracilia Women's Tennis Mini Dress with Built-in Shorts

  • Size Ordered: Large - runs true to size.

  • Regular Price: $49.99

  • Fit & Flattery: The cutest, most flattering silhouette of the bunch, featuring a cinched waist and a flared skirt. It is the shortest style tested and does not have a built-in bra, but the wide straps offer great support.

  • Shorts Ride-Up Resistance: Moderate. The attached shorts are comfortable but do require occasional adjustments after periods of walking.

  • Sweat-Wicking: Excellent. It wicks sweat perfectly, making it safe to wear even in lighter colors.

IUGA Womens Tennis Dress with Built-in Shorts and Bra

  • Size Ordered: Large - runs true to size, if not slightly small

  • Regular Price: $35.99

  • Fit & Flattery: Simple and cute from a distance, but the thick, obvious bra pads and the criss-cross back design were less than flattering. The longer skirt length also leaned a bit frumpy on a taller frame.

  • Shorts Ride-Up Resistance: Poor. The built-in shorts rode up immediately, making a chafing stick an absolute necessity.

  • Sweat-Wicking: Disappointing. The material holds onto moisture and stays wet for quite a while after a heavy sweat or a Florida rain shower.

Ewedoos Womens Tennis Dress with Built-in Shorts and Bra

  • Size Ordered: Large - runs true to size if not slightly larger

  • Regular Price: $39.99

  • Fit & Flattery: A highly flattering mid-thigh length with thin, adjustable criss-cross straps and discreet, built-in bra pads that hold up well.

  • Shorts Ride-Up Resistance: Good. The shorts ride up very gradually over time, but they stay put much longer than the other attached options.

  • Sweat-Wicking: Exceptional. It pulls sweat away efficiently and dries incredibly fast.

The Tennis Dress I Wouldn’t Purchase Again

IUGA Women's Tennis Dress with Built-in Shorts and Bra

This dress was a major disappointment for me, and I definitely wouldn't purchase it again. While it looks cute and simple from a distance, the up-close reality comes with too many frustrations for a long, hot day at Disney. The built-in bra pads were thick, very obvious, misshapen circles, and the armpit holes to remove them were glaringly noticeable in the light blue fabric. (See in the photo above on the left side? It’s not very discrete! Neither is the bra support line that’s showing on the right side. The Grippy Cakes are invisible though!)

The criss-cross back straps weren't comfortable, made bathroom breaks difficult, and unfortunately emphasized back fat in a way that just made me feel self-conscious. To make matters worse, the skirt length is a bit longer than preferable (for me, anyway, some people might like a longer length!) It leaned on the less-flattering side for my long, thicker legs, the material stayed wet and soggy for a long time after getting sweaty or caught in the rain, and the shorts rode up immediately. I spent the entire day doing the "pull the shorts down" dance and absolutely had to rely on a chafing stick.

At least the IUGA dress is very soft and comes in lots of cute, flattering colors. I’ll still wear it on occasion (with the use of my go-to Gold Bond Friction Defense anti-chafe stick), but it won’t be the favorite to reach for.

The Best Amazon Tennis Dresses for Summer

ODODOS Women's Cloud Feeling Tank Dress with Separate Shorts and Built-in Bra

This dress is sooo good for a hot park day, mostly thanks to the genius design of the separate, unattached shorts. Because they aren't connected to the dress, they don't pull or shift when you walk, meaning they barely rode up at all throughout the day. I didn't even need a chafing stick! Separate shorts also mean going to the restroom is incredibly comfortable and easy, requiring zero awkward undressing in a theme park stall.

The nylon-spandex fabric is buttery soft and feels more like premium cotton, wicking moisture away from the body. While the soft material can cling a little to the belly or bloat area, choosing a dark color or pairing it with a belt bag easily solves that. The wide V-neck straps are comfortable for all-day wear, and the mid-thigh length is absolutely ideal for a taller frame.

Ewedoos Women's Tennis Dress with Built-in Shorts and Bra

The Ewedoos dress is a fantastic all-around option that got so many things right. The skirt hits at a perfect, flattering mid-thigh length, and the built-in bra pads hold up incredibly well without being obvious or bulky. While the thin, criss-cross straps did start to dig in a bit by the end of a long park day, they are fully adjustable and easy enough to loosen when you need a bit of relief. They also move well enough that bathroom breaks aren't a nightmare. The material wicks away sweat like a dream and dries incredibly fast, keeping you feeling fresh. Plus, the built-in shorts stay put much longer than the IUGA or Caracilia options, only riding up very gradually over time.

Caracilia Women's Tennis Mini Dress with Built-in Shorts

If your number one priority is aesthetics, this is hands-down the cutest, most flattering dress of the entire bunch. The cinched waist and flared skirt create an ultra-flattering silhouette, and the wide, comfortable straps are perfect for all-day wear. It doesn't have an attached bra, but the fabric is fitted and supportive enough that I comfortably skipped one and used Cakes Body silicone boob covers instead (the ones that are grippy, not sticky!). The material also wicks sweat well, so you don't have to be afraid of choosing a light color.

Keep in mind that this is the shortest skirt of the group, so it shows a decent amount of leg. The only real downsides are that the shorts only have a pocket on one side, and they do ride up occasionally, meaning you will need to pause and adjust them every now and then after long stretches of walking.

If I Had to Pick Just One Dress to Pack…

In peak summer, without a doubt, I would choose the ODODOS Tank Dress. For a full rope-drop-to-fireworks day where staying cool, dry, and entirely friction-free is the ultimate goal, the unattached shorts make this the clear winner. It completely eliminates the two biggest theme park wardrobe struggles: zero bathroom-break hassle and no shorts riding up.
