Adults Only Disney World Carry On Packing List

Planning a trip to the most magical place on earth in 2026? We’ve got you covered with the ultimate Disney World carry on packing list for an adults only trip. Get to the magic faster by not checking a bag and back strategically in a carry on and backpack. Save hours of prepping and planning and steal our packing checklist!

We’ve been incredibly lucky to visit Disney World, Disneyland California, Disneyland Paris, and even a Disney Cruise within the past year. But as Walt Disney World die-hards, we can’t help but revisit our favorite Florida resort over and over again. We’ve been solo, as a couple, with family, and with a group of friends many times this year. Our trip lengths typically range from one to five day trips, including on and off-property stays and even resort-hopping.

With multiple visits in the past few years, we’ve perfected our Disney packing list. Whether you’re a fan of doing full-day parks or park hopping, long resort stays, or quick weekend getaways, this packing list is sure to fit your Disney style.

We prioritize mid-range budget trips and choices when it comes to shopping! We don’t always choose the absolute cheapest option simply because it’s a deal, but we prioritize value most of all! The items have to be well and reasonably priced and worth every penny. We like quality for a steal of a deal!

THREE QUICK CAVEATS:

  1. If you’re packing for kiddos, please refer to other family travel bloggers, such as Kids on a Plane or Six Suitcase Travel. As childless millennials proud to be “Aunt Kait and Uncle Andrew,” we’ve visited Disney with our nephews but have never had to pack for them! May the odds be ever in your favor.

  2. If you’re driving to Disney, feel free to be more lenient in packing bigger bags! The rest of the country wishes they lived closer to such a great vacation destination. Just remember that you no longer have to pay for hotel parking at Disney resorts.

  3. If you’re flying to Disney, the FAA (federal aviation administration) only allows two bags in the cabin per person. We advise packing any small park bags, cross-body bags, or similar smaller bags into a bigger backpack which will be your personal item.

Comfortable clothes which move and breathe in Florida weather. We advise against jeans no matter the season! Casual jersey or cotton dresses or athleisure are often the perfect solutions to staying cool and comfortable through humidity and long park days.

Pack enough clothes to have at least one outfit per park day, with about two additional options for the trip that can mix and match with anything. No one wants to overpack, but no one wants to be stuck in gross or wet clothes if caught in a rainstorm or drenched on the water-based rides!

DO NOT plan to wear shoes you haven’t broken in yet! It’s the biggest rookie mistake you can make that can truly ruin an otherwise magical day. Instead of packing them, wear your thickest-soled, well-worn sneakers on your travel day, whether that’s navigating airports or making your way to the resort. These will keep you comfortable while not taking up any extra room in your carry on suitcase!

Though you have this pair, be sure to pack one an extra pair of sneakers! Having a backup will ensure you always have dry, comfortable shoes even after a long day or unexpected downpours. Along with an extra set of sneakers, don’t forget a pair of sandals as well! These are perfect for those moments when you need to cool down, head to the pool, or simply wish to enjoy the water rides without worrying about soggy shoes.

Want some outfit inspo for your trip? We both lean towards pretty minimalistic style and love getting ready for the parks with just a hint of Disney, but in pieces that are wearable and re-wearable in and outside of the parks. As a midsize woman and a midsize man who both wear a Large in most things, we pick outfits that are practical for other midsize bodies that will work with you in the heat and humidity of central Florida.

We know everyone’ style and priorities are different, so these aren’t mandatory, but we’re fans of these picks. We recommend packing several small bags with relevant products within your carry on to make sure everything stays organized and tidy while in your hotel room. A set of clear, packable bags makes it easy to identify which bag holds what things. And since they’re just the right size, the middle one can be used as a liquids bag for your backpack!
