Best Gluten Free Foods I’ve Tried in Disney World (So Far!)

I’ve been to Disney World dozens of times, and for years, I never thought twice about what I ordered. That all changed in early January 2026 when my allergist officially confirmed that I have a wheat allergy. To say I was shocked is an understatement! I’m in my 30s and have always eaten wheat and gluten with no problem (or so I thought). I’ve also been a lifelong migraine sufferer.

When I decided to cut out wheat cold turkey to see if it would make a difference, it literally changed my life! Living with chronic migraines, I felt like a trigger was around every turn. I was dealing with 10 or more migraines every month for as long as I can remember. Since I stopped eating wheat, I haven’t had a single migraine! It feels like a total miracle. Because of that, wheat products haven’t even been tempting to me since I know how good life can be without them.

Allergies and intolerances are a spectrum, and I know I’m blessed to be on the lighter end of it. Since I don’t have Celiac disease or life-threatening anaphylactic reactions to cross-contamination, I can’t speak perfectly to every level of food safety. However, Disney takes allergies very, very seriously! If you have an intensely serious allergy to wheat or gluten, please request to speak with the chef before consuming anything. For me, placing a mobile order and having a quick conversation with the dining staff to confirm the order is wheat-free is plenty. If you’re dining at a quick-service location, you’ll notice an extra “allergy” marker and purple trays to make your order highly identifiable as one with allergies.

I’m still new to the gluten-free game, but since I’m at Disney multiple times a year, I’m always trying new dishes and desserts to see if they’re worth ordering again. Changing your diet can feel overwhelming, but in Disney, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the fun! Whether you are newly gluten-free or just trying to eat a less inflammatory diet, these options are tried, true, and delicious. I’m not a big fan of spending a park day at table-service restaurants, so all of my picks are quick grab-and-go options. Here are the best gluten-free and wheat-free foods I’ve tried in Disney World, so far!

1. Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich | Flame Tree Barbecue (Animal Kingdom)

The pulled pork? Delicious! The side of beans? So tasty! The side of coleslaw? Andrew loved it, but unfortunately, I’m not a coleslaw fan. The gluten-free bun is honestly as good, soft, and fluffy as a gluten-free bun is going to get. Let’s be honest: no gluten-free bun will ever be quite as good as a regular bun, but this one was almost good enough to finish! It’s a great, filling option when you're trekking through Animal Kingdom.

2. Gluten Free Churros | Nomad Lounge (Animal Kingdom)

Crispy, crunchy, cinnamon goodness! These are just as good as the originals. If you’re with company, they’d enjoy these just as much as you will! Sitting at Nomad Lounge with these is easily one of my favorite ways to take a break from the heat.

3. Shrimp Skewer Platter | Columbia Harbour House (Magic Kingdom)

Fresh and delicious! This shrimp skewer platter is very flavorful and perfect for a lunch on a long, hot park day. It feels light but satisfying, which is exactly what you need when you're trying to hit every ride in the park.

4. Maple-Mustard Glazed Salmon | Columbia Harbour House (Magic Kingdom)

Much like the shrimp platter, the salmon from Columbia Harbour House is a large portion of tasty fish and sides. This has become my go-to dinner in Magic Kingdom... especially when I didn’t just have the shrimp for lunch!

5. Cook’s Corn Griddle Cakes with Chipotle-braised Chicken | The Beak and Barrel (Magic Kingdom)

If you can score reservations at Beak and Barrel, this corn cake works for brunch, lunch, or as part of a light dinner. The corn cake itself is perfectly fine (not stellar, but still definitely worth eating), and that braised chicken is absolutely delicious! It’s one of those meals that feels a little more "elevated" than your standard park fare.

6. Strawberry and Orange Dole Whip | Sunshine Tree Terrace (Magic Kingdom)

Everyone loves a Dole Whip! But even more seriously than my wheat allergy, I'm quite allergic to pineapple! So instead, I order the strawberry cup, have it swirled with orange, and it’s delicious! It’s the perfect way to cool down without worrying about my allergies.

7. Gluten-free Mickey Waffles | Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

I really wish these gluten-free Mickey Waffles were available in the parks, but I’m so happy they’re available at most, if not all, Disney resort hotels! These are very similar to the regular Mickey Waffles, so definitely worth ordering! It’s far easier to make gluten-free waffles taste better and less gritty than gluten-free pancakes. These are available in kids’ and adult portions.

8. Kids' Gluten/Wheat Allergy-Friendly Chicken Strips | Regal Eagle Smokehouse (EPCOT)

Sometimes I just want a few fried chicken strips instead of another grilled chicken breast, and I’m thankful there are good alternatives to traditional strips! Since EPCOT has so many good festivals with small snacks and treats, I always end up getting the kids’ meal. It has two good-sized chicken strips, two sides (like French fries and baked beans with burnt ends), and a drink. It’s plenty for a quick and easy lunch! You can also find these at Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom and Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios.

9. Felucian Falafel and Hummus Garden Spread | Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo (Hollywood Studios)

When it’s been a minute since you’ve had a vegetable in the parks, this is the perfect dish to try! The gluten-free version of this dish offers carrots instead of pita, and the falafel is made in a different fryer. It’s fresh, filling, and a great break from the typical "burger and fries" routine.

10. Chocolate Chip Sandwich | Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC (Disney Springs)

This sweet treat is a welcome delight! This bakery is gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan. It’s free of everything that you’d think would make sweets worth it, but they somehow pull it off! This is one of the best cookies I’ve had this year, and the “cream” in between was also delicious. It’s very sweet, so I finished it over the course of a weekend. Though it’s pricey, it’s large and absolutely worth it!
